Life:
Marcel Beyer published the novels Das Menschenfleisch (“The Human Flesh”, Suhrkamp 1991), Flughunde (The Karnau Tapes, Suhrkamp 1995) und Spione (Spies, DuMont 2000). Marcel Beyer’s books have been distinguished with numerous awards and have been translated into many languages. His last publication was the volume of poems Erdkunde (“Geography”, DuMont 2002), the collection of essays Nonfiction (DuMont 2003) as well as the novel Kaltenburg (Suhrkamp, 2008). The novels The Karnau Tapes and Spies have been published in English, the former by Secker & Warburg (1997), the latter by Harcourt (2005).
