Life:
Vera Burlak is as a poet and translator. She studied Philology at the Belarusian State University in Minsk and is currently a lecturer for Russian literature at the same faculty. Her first volume of poems Za zdarovy lad schyc’cja (“For a healthy way of living”) was published in 2003. In 2005, she took a doctoral degree on the topic of modern poetry written for children during the Silver Age of Russian Poetry. She translates from Ukrainian, Russian and English. In 2008, she published a CD with poems set to music, entitled Phantom of the Literature.
